About William Miller
William “Will” Miller (Blackfeet & Cherokee) is a proud graduate of Mt. Hood Community College and a lifelong advocate for justice, liberation, and community-driven change. From serving as MHCC’s former Student Body President and Director of Diversity, to his current leadership roles across Oregon and the nation, Will brings a deep commitment to equity, policy, and access.
Will currently serves as the Executive Director of the NAYA Action Fund, Government Affairs Manager at the Native American Youth and Family Center, and is the Owner of Miller Strategies Consulting. With over a decade of experience in policy, advocacy, community engagement, and systems change, he has helped pass hundreds of laws focused on uplifting underrepresented communities, expanding access to housing, education, and healthcare.
A Ford Family Foundation Scholar, Will earned his bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in law and politics from Oregon State University. He also serves on several local and national boards, including the National Urban Indian Family Coalition, Future Generations Collaborative, and as Vice Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon’s Native American Caucus.
Will is running for the Mt. Hood Community College Board of Education, Zone 2, to give back to the institution that helped launch his leadership journey. He’s committed to expanding student support, ensuring affordable access to education, and creating inclusive policies that reflect the diverse communities MHCC serves.
Above all, Will believes in the power of collective action – and in building a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, not just today, but for generations to come.
